NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Bids are requested for the

TRAIL 5 SYLVAN ROAD PROJECT

MDOT PROJECT NUMBER STP-2220(800)X

The project includes constructing a new 12' wide multi-use trail from the end of Sylvan Road and extending to Stillwater Avenue adjacent to the I95 Northbound off ramp for Stillwater Avenue in Bangor along with other incidental work, including culverts, fencing, and guardrail.

The Trail 5 Sylvan Road Project is a Maine Federal Aid Project No. STP 2220(800)X, MaineDOT WIN 22208.00, located on the end of Sylvan Road and extending to Stillwater Avenue adjacent to the I95 Northbound off ramp, Bangor, Maine.

For consideration, the attached bid form sealed in an envelope, distinctly marked

" TRAIL 5 SYLVAN ROAD "

must be received at the Office of the City of Bangor Purchasing Agent by

2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5, 2020.

A prebid meeting will be held on January 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the City of Bangor's Engineering Department, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine.

Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid price will be required in the form of cash, a certified check or bid bond.

This project is subject to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wage Rate Determination. All work shall be governed by State of Maine Department of Transportation, "Standard Specification", revision of November 2014, and "Standard Details", revision of November 2014.

The right is reserved to reject any and all bids or to waive informalities or defects in bids if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bangor. Bases of award of Contract is determined by the lowest qualified bidder. The lowest bidder must have successfully completed a Highway, or project specific prequalification for Bangor to be considered for the award of this contract.

Specifications may be obtained at the Engineering Department, City Hall, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine 04401, for a one hundred dollar ($100.00) charge. If plans need to mailed, a additional fee of $40.00 will be charged.
